0.0.0.1 Renewing your project(s) and allocation(s) is quick and easy in the user portal.

Each year, PIs must renew their CARC project(s) and their allocation(s) to storage and/or compute resources. As the 2020-2021 fiscal year comes to an end on June 30, it is now time to renew your CARC projects and allocations.

You can renew your projects and allocations in the CARC user portal. If you aren’t familiar with the user portal, you can consult our user support page. The renewal process is very easy and should only take a minute or two.

0.0.1 Projects

You must renew your project (if required – you will see a “Needs Review” alert in the portal) before you can renew any allocations associated with it. When renewing your projects, we ask that you:

  • Update your project description and field of science, if necessary
  • Add new publications you may have
  • Add or update grant information for any grants you received related to the project
  • Verify the active users on your project and remove any that no longer work with you

0.0.2 Allocations

When renewing your allocations, we ask that you verify the active users with access to the allocation and remove any that no longer require access. If you have a subscription to Endeavour compute resources (as part of the Condo Cluster Program), you will be presented with the cost of the allocation for the next year as well as the terms and conditions for the Condo Cluster Program before renewing.

0.0.3 Renewal deadline

The deadline to renew your projects and allocations is June 30, 2021. If you do not renew your allocations on time, all users in your project group will be blocked from running jobs on the cluster that allocation is linked to. If there is a reason you are unable to renew before this date or if you have any questions about your allocations or renewals, please submit a help ticket.

See the Annual Project Review user guides for further instructions.
