Upcoming CARC Maintenance and Changes to /scratch Filesystems
0.0.0.1 /scratch1 will be replacing /scratch after maintenance is completed.
We will be performing maintenance on CARC systems from Friday, March 18 at 2:00 PM PDT until Sunday, March 20 at 10:00 AM. During this time, compute nodes will be unavailable for jobs. We will be updating the Slurm job scheduler to the latest version.
After the completion of this scheduled maintenance, we will be replacing the /scratch filesystem with a new higher performance filesystem with 1.6PB of storage mounted as /scratch1. A new policy will be in put in place for /scratch1 enforcing a data purge every 90 days. Please be sure to regularly backup any important data you do not wish to lose.
The current /scratch filesystem will remain available for read-only files for 2 weeks after the launch of /scratch1. After this time, all data in /scratch will be deleted.
No changes will be made to the /scratch2 filesystem at this time.
We apologize for the downtime but thank you for your continued cooperation and flexibility.
