Upcoming CARC Maintenance - August 14-20, 2023

0.0.0.1 CARC systems will be under an extended maintenance period before the Fall 2023 semester starts.

We will be performing maintenance on the CARC systems from August 14th at 8:00 AM PST until the evening of Sunday, August 20th. During this time, compute nodes will be unavailable for jobs.

This maintenance period marks the release of a new system that we are excited to share with our users! We will be putting our new on-premises cloud computing platform—Artemis—into production. Artemis complements existing CARC systems and services by offering researchers access to virtual machines (VMs) on which they can run alternative operating system environments and deploy resources. CARC will be offering workshops this fall to teach users how to use Artemis.

Additionally, we will be performing testing for future InfiniBand upgrades and software updates. More information about this will be released soon.

Maintenance and testing will be completed before the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester. We appreciate your understanding as we update our systems and apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions or concerns, please submit a help ticket and we will assist you.
